I recently wrote a submission to support and celebrate the achievements of the residents of Bulga, who attended four art workshops that I ran in May 2015. Here’s an excerpt:
I make this submission on behalf of the people of Bulga who attended four art workshops that I ran in the village in May. The workshops were intended to allow local residents to tell their story, both of their connection to Bulga and of trying to save their livelihoods, homes and history, however there was also a therapeutic element as well. Locals were encouraged to come and enjoy painting and drawing (some for the very first time) so that they could release some stresses and tension associated with the mine expansion.
